[07-01-2024] Sacramento County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Orangevale

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Orangevale, Sacramento County, on Monday morning, July 1, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 7:50 a.m. near the intersection of Hazel Avenue and Greenback Lane. 

Authorities stated that the pedestrian was walking on a raised center along Hazel Avenue when he was hit by a Ford Fusion. The man sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he died. The victim’s identity was not disclosed pending the notification of his next of kin.

Meanwhile, the Fusion driver did not suffer any injuries, but his vehicle sustained windshield damage after the crash. There is no word yet on the driver’s identity.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be the factors in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the authorities. 

No further information was released. The investigation is ongoing.
