One person was critically injured, and three others sustained minor injuries after a Jeep Wrangler went off the roadway and overturned in Shasta County on Tuesday afternoon, June 30, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Hirz Mountain Road, southwest of Point McCloud and east of Lakehead.
Investigators said a white Jeep Wrangler was traveling northbound on the dirt roadway when it failed to negotiate a turn, left the road, and overturned approximately 100 feet down a steep ravine.
Authorities reported that the driver and two rear passengers were ejected from the vehicle. One passenger sustained major injuries, while the driver and two other passengers suffered minor injuries.
One passenger reportedly walked about 15 minutes to find cell service and call 911 due to the remote location. CHP Air Operations assisted in transporting patients to awaiting ambulances, which then took all four individuals to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
The CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
