A man riding an electric bicycle was killed after being struck by a vehicle near an on-ramp to Interstate 880 in Fremont on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
According to the Fremont Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. near Auto Mall Parkway and Grimmer Boulevard.
The victim was riding eastbound in the westbound bike lane at the entrance to the northbound I-880 on-ramp when he collided with a car traveling westbound in the right-turn lane.
The man suffered head trauma and was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver, described as a woman, was uninjured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with investigators.
The investigation is ongoing.
