[06-26-2026] Stanislaus County, CA – Child Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle in Modesto

A child was injured after being hit by a vehicle on Kerr Avenue in Modesto on Friday, June 26, 2026.

According to the Modesto Police Department, officers and personnel from the Modesto Fire Department responded to the scene and found the child alert and conscious.

The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, but the child was airlifted to a hospital for further evaluation as a precaution.

Investigators reported that the driver initially left the scene and went to a nearby residence, but was later located and has been cooperative with authorities.

The incident remains under investigation.
