Two people were killed following a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in Fontana on Wednesday night, June 26, 2024.
According to the Fontana Police Department, the crash happened around 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Sierra Avenue and Valley Boulevard.
Authorities stated that a motorcycle was found traveling at a high rate of speed on the southbound Sierra. The police tried to request an airship to track the rider, but it was not available. Due to the motorcycle’s excessive speed, the officer was unable to pursue it.
As the rider entered the intersection of Sierra and Valley Boulevard, their motorcycle crashed into a Nissan Sentra that was heading east on Valley. Both the rider and the driver of the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported as they were the sole occupants of their vehicles.
The names of the deceased were not yet disclosed, pending the notification of their next of kin.
It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Witnesses are encouraged to come forward and contact the police.
