[06-25-2026] Fresno County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash Near Ventura and F St.

A pedestrian was killed after being struck in a hit-and-run crash near downtown Fresno on Thursday night, June 25, 2026.

According to Fresno Police, officers were flagged down by a witness just before 9 p.m. near Ventura and F Streets, reporting that a vehicle had struck a woman crossing the roadway. An officer located the victim in the westbound lanes of Ventura Street, suffering from major injuries.

The woman was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where she later died.

Investigators described the suspect vehicle as a large, dark-colored SUV, possibly black or brown. The driver reportedly fled the scene without stopping.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
