[06-25-2024] One Person Killed, Two Others Injured After Two-Vehicle Head-On Crash in ForestvilleOne person was killed, while two others were injured after a two-vehicle head-on crash in Forestville, Sonoma County, on Tuesday night, June 25, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly traffic incident happened at about 10:08 p.m. near the Martinelli Road and River Road intersection.

The collision involved a Toyota Sienna minivan with a driver and passenger and a Chevrolet Sonic compact. Officers said the Toyota was heading eastbound on River Road while the Chevy was traveling in the opposite direction. 

For some reason, the two vehicles collided head-on. Authorities are still unsure which vehicle caused the accident.

Upon arrival, medical personnel found the female driver of the Toyota and her passenger with moderate injuries. They were then quickly transported to a nearby hospital. The female driver died during the transport. 

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Sonoma County Coroner pending her family’s notification. Her passenger’s current condition was not disclosed at this time.

The Chevy driver, whose name, age, and gender were also not immediately known, suffered major injuries. 

No further information was immediately available. The authorities are still examining all the evidence found to determine the factors that may have contributed to the fatal incident.
