[06-25-2024] Merced County, CA – One Person Injured After Being Struck By Hit-And-Run Vehicle Along East Main Street

One person was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in Merced on Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2024. 

According to the Merced Police Department, the collision happened in the area of 100 block of East Main Street. 

Authorities stated that a hit-and-run collision was caught on camera. A person whose name, age, and gender were not immediately known was hit by a vehicle. As of this writing, the extent of the injuries, as well as the current condition of the victim, were not disclosed. 

Police said that the driver of the car that struck the victim fled the scene and failed to ask for help. Details on the description of the car were not provided at this time. The suspect’s identity has yet to be released once it becomes available. 

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. It is unknown what caused the incident.
