One person was seriously injured after a hit-and-run collision in Palm Desert early Monday morning, June 24, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on westbound Interstate 10, east of Cook Street.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a tow truck operator was loading up an unspecified vehicle along the side of the freeway when he was suddenly hit by an oncoming vehicle. It is said that the driver fled the scene.
The tow truck operator reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. As soon as medical responders arrived, he was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center for further medical care. Additional details regarding the victim’s identity, such as his name and age, were not provided.
CHP is still investigating. An official description of the suspect vehicle and its driver is yet to be revealed.
