A teenage boy riding an electric bicycle was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Menifee on Monday evening, June 23, 2025.
According to the Menifee Police Department, the collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bellamy Lane and Scott Road.
Authorities reported that the teen was riding southbound on Bellamy and attempted to cross Scott Road without yielding to oncoming traffic.
A 28-year-old woman driving a sedan eastbound on Scott Road attempted to swerve right to avoid the bicyclist but struck him with the vehicle’s fender. The impact caused the car to veer off course and crash through a roadside fence.
Paramedics from the Riverside County Fire Department arrived shortly after the crash and treated the teen at the scene. He was transported to a regional trauma center with major injuries, which were determined to be non-life-threatening. As of Tuesday, he remained in stable condition.
The driver, a Menifee resident, was not injured and was questioned at the scene. She was not arrested. Authorities stated that impairment is not suspected as a factor in the collision.
No further details were immediately available.
