​[06-22-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – One Killed in Crash on I-5 Near Welson Canyon Motorway in Newhall

One person was killed in a crash on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway near Welson Canyon Motorway in the Newhall area, Los Angeles County, on Monday, June 22, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at around 2:18 a.m. south of the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway and The Old Road. CHP officers indicated the collision may have involved a pedestrian.

The identity, age, and gender of the victim have not been released. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
