A man in his 40s was critically injured after colliding with a vehicle while riding a motorcycle in Berkeley shortly after midnight on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
According to Berkeley police, the crash occurred at around 12:10 a.m. at Channing Way and Fulton Street.
A dark-colored BMW sedan was involved, and the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Preliminary reports indicate the motorcycle rider may have been speeding and failed to stop at a prior stop sign before the collision.
The rider, who is not from Berkeley, was transported to a hospital with injuries described as potentially life-threatening. The BMW sustained damage to the driver’s side.
