A 19-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a big rig in Stanislaus County on Saturday morning, June 21, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. on West Grayson Road near Shiloh Road, just outside of Modesto. Emergency crews arrived to find a 2015 Kia sedan and a big rig with major damage.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the Kia was traveling northbound from a driveway onto West Grayson Road at the intersection with Shiloh Road. At the same time, the big rig was heading eastbound on West Grayson Road. The Kia entered the roadway directly into the path of the oncoming truck, which struck the passenger side of the vehicle.
The driver of the Kia, a 19-year-old woman from Modesto, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the big rig, a 38-year-old man from Merced, was not injured.
CHP confirmed that both drivers were wearing seatbelts and stated that drugs or alcohol were not suspected as factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
