[06-21-2024] Driver Killed Following Suspected Two-Vehicle DUI Collision Near Santa RosaA driver was killed following a suspected two-vehicle DUI collision near Santa Rosa on Friday evening, June 21, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 10:23 p.m. at the intersection of Stony Point Road and Millbrae Avenue. 

Authorities stated that the collision involved a Nissan Altima and a Fiat 500. The Nissan was traveling south on Stony Point Road, heading to the intersection at Millbrae. Meanwhile, the Fiat was driving westbound on Millbrae, approaching a stop sign, when it failed to stop and collided with the driver’s side of the Nissan. 

The driver of the Nissan sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no word yet on the identity of the deceased victim. 

Police identified the driver of the Fiat as Charles R., 51, of Sebastopol. He was arrested and booked into jail on several charges, including suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary details to determine the cause of the incident.
