[06-20-2026] Kern County, CA – Bicyclist Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in Bakersfield.webpA bicyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being struck in a hit-and-run crash in Bakersfield on Saturday morning, June 20, 2026.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched at around 1:05 a.m. to the intersection of Stockdale Highway and Calloway Drive.

The bicyclist, an adult male, was traveling westbound through the intersection in the crosswalk when a southbound vehicle struck him. The driver failed to stop at the flashing red lights and fled the scene.

Officers later located the driver, an adult female, as she attempted to enter Westside Parkway. She was detained, found to be intoxicated, and booked into the Kern County Lerdo Detention Center on felony DUI causing injury charges.

The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second driver was also arrested for DUI after entering the crime scene during the investigation.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
