[06-18-2024] Multiple Injuries Reported Following Multi-Vehicle Collision in West CovinaMultiple injuries were reported following a multi-vehicle collision in West Covina on Tuesday night, June 18, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. on 10 Freeway near Grand Avenue. 

Authorities stated that a wrong-way motorist driving a sedan was spotted traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the freeway. Moments later, a multi-vehicle collision that appeared to be a five-car pile-up was reported to the authorities. Upon arrival, it is believed that one of the vehicles involved flipped over before it landed back on its tires. 

A white vehicle and a silver sedan sustained significant damage. Emergency personnel from the West Covina Fire Department were requested to treat the injured people in the crash. As of this writing, the extent of the injuries and the condition of the victims have not been disclosed. 

It remains unclear which of the vehicles involved belonged to the wrong-way driver. The role of drugs and alcohol is being investigated as factors in the collision. 

Further information on the incident has yet to be released by the authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
