Several people sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash in central Fresno late Monday night, June 16, 2025.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Fresno Street and Dakota Avenue.
Authorities said a driver traveling westbound on Dakota Avenue ran a red light at Fresno Street and collided with another vehicle that had the right of way.
The occupants of the second vehicle suffered significant injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash fled the scene on foot. No description of the suspect has been released.
Police have not confirmed whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
