[06-16-2024] Contra Costa County, CA – Male Bicyclist Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in Orinda

A male bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Orinda on Friday afternoon, June 16, 2024.

According to the authorities, the bicycle vs. vehicle collision happened just after 2:00 p.m. in the area of Camino Pablo and Orinda Way.

When first responders arrived, they found the bicyclist, described only as in his 50s or 60s, down on the road with a major head injury and fading in and out of consciousness. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical care. 

Further information about the victim’s identity and current condition were not disclosed at this time.

It is also still unclear if the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim was injured.

Police blocked off the area as a precaution while investigators figured out the cause of the accident and its possible factors at play.

The investigation is continuing.
