A male motorcyclist was killed after a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in Lake Hughes, Los Angeles County, late Friday night, June 14, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident occurred around 11:07 p.m. at the intersection of Elizabeth Lake Road and Trail E.

CHP officers said that the rider had been thrown out of his motorcycle due to the impact of the crash, inflicting severe injuries. After being checked out by the responding paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The deceased victim’s name, age, and origin were not immediately available. It is still unclear if the driver of the vehicle that struck the rider stayed on the scene.

CHP said that a utility pole nearby was damaged as a result of the incident. 

The authorities did not provide any further details. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
