[06-13-2024] Monterey County, CA – Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle in Salinas

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Salinas early Thursday morning, June 13, 2024. 

According to the Salinas Police Department, the collision happened at about 4:39 a.m. on John Street just East of North Sanborn Road. 

Authorities stated that the pedestrian was walking onto the street when, for unknown reasons, they were struck by an unspecified vehicle. The victim, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, suffered major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. 

The driver of the vehicle that hit the victim remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol do not appear as factors in the crash. There is no word yet on the official cause of the collision. 

The investigators have yet to release further details. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact the police and assist with the investigation.
