[06-12-2026] Monterey County, CA – Teen Killed in Crash Involving Dirt Bike and Pickup Truck in Castroville.webpA 16-year-old boy died following a crash involving a mini dirt bike and a pickup truck in Castroville, Monterey County, on Friday morning, June 12, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:57 a.m. at the intersection of Cooper and Pomber streets. 

Authorities reported that the teen was riding a mini dirt bike westbound on Pomber Street when it entered the intersection and moved into the southbound lane of Cooper Street. A Ram pickup driven by a 35-year-old man from Hollister struck the dirt bike on the right side.

The teen was transported to a local hospital with major injuries and was later pronounced dead. Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
