Two people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle suspected DUI collision in south Bakersfield on Sunday night, June 9, 2024.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the crash happened around 10:00 p.m. on East Panama Lane and Sparks Street.
Authorities stated that the collision involved two vehicles, and the drivers of each vehicle sustained moderate injuries. Both were transported to the hospital for medical treatment. At this time, the identities of the people involved were not disclosed.
Officers suspect that alcohol played a role in the collision. They obtained a search warrant and drew blood samples from both drivers. Charges are pending until the blood test results are available.
