One person was killed, and five others were injured following a two-vehicle hit-and-run collision east of Yountville, Napa County, on Saturday afternoon, June 8, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:20 p.m. in front of Silverado Vineyards at 6121 Silverado Trail, between Oak Knoll and Yountville Cross Road.
Authorities stated that one vehicle with four occupants was traveling southbound on Silverado Trail when it crossed into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into the oncoming vehicle with two people inside.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and five people sustained injuries. Details on the extent of the injuries and the condition of the victims were not immediately known. Their names, ages, and genders were not disclosed at this time.
Police said the driver of the southbound vehicle fled the scene and was being sought. No information was released regarding the make and model of the vehicles involved.
Additional details have yet to be disclosed by the investigations. The role of drugs, alcohol, and speeding are being investigated.
