A 28-year-old man was killed, and a woman sustained injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Oxnard on Sunday night, June 1, 2025.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the collision occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Hill Street and Ventura Road.
A Honda Accord was reportedly turning right from eastbound Hill Street onto southbound Ventura Road when it was broadsided by a southbound Mitsubishi Eclipse that had a green light and the right of way. The Honda overturned and came to rest in the southbound lanes, while the Mitsubishi ended up on the northbound shoulder.
The 28-year-old male Honda driver was transported to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries on June 2, 2025. His identity has not been released pending family notification.
The Mitsubishi driver, a 31-year-old Oxnard woman, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center. Authorities believe alcohol impairment may have been a factor in the crash.
