Three people were injured following a three-vehicle crash in Lucerne Valley, San Bernardino County, on Sunday afternoon, May 31, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported at around 1:19 p.m. near the intersection of State Route 18 and Custer Road. The crash involved a silver pickup truck and two sedans.
The pickup truck sustained major rear-end damage and came to rest off the roadway near a utility pole, while the two sedans remained in the lanes until officers cleared the roadway.
Authorities reported that one patient suffered a compound fracture and was airlifted by medical helicopter from Pioneer Park to a trauma center. A second patient from one of the sedans was transported by ground ambulance, and a passenger in the pickup truck was also taken by ambulance after reporting back pain.
The California Highway Patrol’s Victorville Station is handling the investigation into the cause of the collision.
