According to the Santa Maria Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Betteravia Road near the Target store and the former David’s Bridal location. 

A vehicle reportedly crashed and hit a pedestrian who was walking on the sidewalk. As of 5:35 p.m., officers remained at the scene and were speaking with the driver involved. The pedestrian’s injuries were described as critical.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
