[05-30-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on 101 Freeway Near Downtown LAA pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Downtown Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon, May 30, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 1:45 p.m. along the Hollywood (101) Freeway and North Los Angeles Street. 

Authorities said that the pedestrian was found in one of the freeway’s southbound lanes after getting hit by a vehicle. The victim sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Details on their identity, including name, gender, and age, were not immediately available. 

There is no information yet as to what caused the crash. Police are investigating whether drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role. 

Two lanes of the freeway were closed by the responding officials to conduct further investigations and clean up the crash site
