A pedestrian was killed after being struck in a crosswalk on a freeway on-ramp in Arlington Heights, Los Angeles County, on Thursday morning, May 28, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 4:40 a.m. on the Normandie Avenue on-ramp to the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway.
CHP logs indicated that the pedestrian may have been struck twice, and a second vehicle that left the scene could be involved.
A delivery driver who had stopped as required and attempted to block the ramp reportedly had their vehicle carjacked during the incident.
The on-ramp was closed while authorities responded and began investigating the collision.
Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
