According to the Victorville Police Department, the deadly traffic incident occurred at about 7:17 p.m. at the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Hughes Road.

Upon arrival, police found a blue-and-white Yamaha sports motorcycle and a Mercedes-Benz, both with apparent collision damage, blocking the roadway.

Initial reports indicated that the Yamaha was traveling northbound on Rodeo Drive while the Mercedes was going west on Hughes Road. For some reason, the motorcycle collided with the driver-side door of the vehicle, throwing its rider into the ground.

The Yamaha motorcycle rider, later identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office as 36-year-old Igor M., died at the scene after life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. 

Meanwhile, the male driver of the Mercedes and his passenger declined medical transportation and checked themselves into a local hospital via a separate private vehicle. Their current condition is currently unknown.

The intersection was blocked off for several hours as the authorities investigated and cleared up the scene.

No additional information was available at this time, and the VPD is still gathering all the necessary details to determine the cause of the accident and the possible factors that may have contributed to it.
