[05-27-2025] One Seriously Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on I-80 Near Reed Avenue Exit in West SacramentoOne person was seriously injured after being struck by a suspected DUI driver on Interstate 80 in West Sacramento early Tuesday afternoon, May 27, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. just past the Reed Avenue exit. 

Authorities said the suspect was driving recklessly before crashing into another vehicle on the freeway.

The suspect reportedly attempted to flee the scene but was later apprehended and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The driver who was struck sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to CHP.

The name of the DUI suspect has not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
