[05-27-2024] Female Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle Along 215 Freeway in PerrisA female pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Perris early Monday morning, May 27, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at about 2:58 a.m. on the southbound Escondido (215) Freeway, north of Nuevo Road.

Upon arrival, officers found the female pedestrian unresponsive. She was declared dead at the scene moments later. Currently, the victim’s name, age, and origin are not known.

A witness told CHP that a woman ran into the roadway and that a man yelled for help because his wife was apparently hit.

No word yet on whether the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the crash site.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Further details were not immediately released.
