A 17-year-old boy was arrested on felony DUI and hit-and-run charges following a series of crashes in a San Mateo residential neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon, May 26, 2026.
According to the San Mateo Police Department, officers were dispatched around 2:46 p.m. to the area of Shoreview Avenue and Kehoe Avenue after reports of reckless driving and a hit-and-run involving a tan Chevrolet pickup truck.
Authorities reported that multiple hit-and-run incidents occurred before officers located the suspect and the truck in the 900 block of Norton Street. The teen driver was found intoxicated and uncooperative with investigators.
A teen girl riding in the truck sustained minor injuries and was released to a parent at the scene. Officers obtained a blood draw warrant, and after medical clearance, the suspect was released to the custody of a guardian.
The teen faces felony charges of driving under the influence, causing injury, and hit-and-run resulting in injury.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
