Two spectators were injured after being struck by a motorcycle during the annual West Coast Thunder ride on Memorial Day in Riverside on Monday, May 26, 2025.
According to the Riverside Police Department, the motorcyclist lost control while turning left from Trautwein Road onto Van Buren Boulevard, jumped the curb, and crashed into two spectators seated in chairs along the route. The victims were taken to a hospital, and their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
One of the victims, identified as Mina N., shared on social media that she had returned home from the hospital with soreness and pain in her hands, wrist, and knee. CT scans and X-rays showed no major injuries.
Police stated the motorcyclist was not the registered owner of the bike and did not have a valid motorcycle license. He was cited at the scene, and the motorcycle was towed.
Officials reminded the public that the practice of spectators slapping hands with riders poses safety risks and is discouraged. The crash remains under review.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
