[05-26-2025] Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Westbound I-80 Near Powell Street Off-Ramp in EmeryvilleA man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross westbound Interstate Highway 80 near the Powell Street off-ramp in Emeryville on Monday night, May 26, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. CHP officers were alerted to the incident and responded to find that a male pedestrian had been hit while crossing lanes of traffic.

In response to the fatal crash, the CHP’s Golden Gate Division reported that the westbound I-80 connector to eastbound Interstate Highway 580 and southbound Interstate Highway 880 was shut down to facilitate the investigation and clean-up.

The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
