A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Westminster on Monday evening, May 25, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly before 8:43 p.m. on the southbound side of the freeway just north of Westminster Boulevard.
Authorities stated that the driver of a white Toyota Prius reported that the pedestrian jumped in front of the vehicle. Emergency responders located the individual approximately 15 minutes later on the right shoulder of the freeway with major injuries.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name, age, and gender have not been released.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
