A 37-year-old woman from Sacramento died after being struck by a big-rig on eastbound Highway 37 in Vallejo early Friday morning, May 23, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 3:18 a.m. east of the Sacramento Street overcrossing.
Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian walking in the eastbound lane of the highway. While en route, they were informed that the pedestrian had been hit by a 2017 Peterbilt tractor-trailer combination.
The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The truck driver, a 54-year-old man from San Pablo, was uninjured in the crash.
CHP Officer Garrett Pumphrey stated that DUI is not believed to be a contributing factor. The collision remains under investigation.
