[05-19-2026] San Joaquin County, CA – Two Killed in Four-Vehicle Crash Involving Big Rig on Highway 99 in Lodi (1).webpTwo people were killed following a four-vehicle crash involving a big rig in Lodi on Tuesday afternoon, May 19, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol and San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred around 12:20 p.m. on northbound Highway 99 south of Harney Lane.

Authorities stated that a big rig reportedly skidded off the highway and crashed into a guardrail, leading to a collision involving three additional vehicles. Two people died as a result of the incident. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

Officials said the suspected driver of the big rig, identified as 24-year-old Manvir S., fled the scene on foot before later being taken into custody. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and hit-and-run resulting in death.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
