[05-19-2024] Female Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on Northbound I-50A female pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on northbound I-5, Sacramento County, on early Sunday morning, May 19, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened on I-5 northbound at the US 50 transition. 

Authorities stated that a pedestrian, identified as a 22-year-old woman from Sacramento, was struck by a white Toyota traveling 65 miles per hour. The female driver was not able to stop and the left front of her vehicle collided with the pedestrian. 

Police said that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity remains unclear at this time. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. 

The cause of the collision is still under investigation. No further details were released by the authorities.
