At least one person was injured following a two-vehicle collision along Highway 180, Fresno County, on Saturday morning, May 18, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 11:00 a.m. on the westbound lanes of Highway 180 at the connector leading to northbound Highway 41.
Authorities stated that the collision involved a Kia sedan with juveniles inside and a Ford SUV. It is believed that the driver of the Kia was at fault after it collided with the SUV.
When the KIA crashed, the front passenger and the driver were wearing seat belts, but the people in the backseat weren’t. One of the backseat passengers was rendered unconscious after being thrown forward into the seat area and striking the inside of the windshield.
It is unclear if there is anyone else injured. Police said they found blood in the car. The only occupant of the Ford is uninjured.
No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary evidence to determine the cause of the collision.
