[05-16-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle on Southbound 5 Freeway in East LA

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in East Los Angeles early Saturday morning, May 16, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 3:15 a.m. on the southbound Santa Ana Freeway south of Eastern Avenue.

Authorities stated that the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity, age, and gender were not immediately available.
