[05-15-2026] Kern County, CA – Possible Head-On Crash Closes Lane on Highway 58 in Bakersfield

A possible head-on collision involving two vehicles caused lane closures in Bakersfield on Friday evening, May 15, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 6:08 p.m. on westbound Highway 58 at southbound Highway 14.

Authorities stated that a small gray sedan and a black Acura sedan were involved in the collision. At least one lane of westbound Highway 58 was closed as crews responded to the scene.

Officials have not confirmed whether anyone was injured in the crash.
