A pregnant woman was killed, while a male driver was injured following a two-vehicle head-on collision near Cottonwood, Shasta County, early Monday morning, May 13, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident occurred at about 4:40 a.m. along Bowman Road near Adams Road.
CHP officers said that a 33-year-old pregnant woman from Anderson was driving a 2010 Chevy Equinox going west on Bowman Road when, for still-unknown reasons, she crossed the double-yellow lines and went into the opposite lane.
This resulted in the Chevy colliding head-on with an eastbound 2018 Ford F-150 driven by 39-year-old Joshua G. from Cottonwood. Both drivers were reportedly trapped inside their respective vehicles’ wreckage when responders arrived and needed extrication.
The woman, who was about eight to nine months pregnant, died at the hospital along with her unborn child after getting transported. The driver of the F-150 suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding to recover.
Additional details were not immediately provided, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary information to determine the factors that led to the deadly crash.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways.
