According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the traffic crash happened at about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Brodiaea Avenue and Perris Boulevard.

The incident involved a sedan and a truck. Authorities said the two collided at unconfirmed speeds, pushing the smaller sedan toward a nearby light pole.

Upon arrival, responders found five people with injuries. Three of them were taken to Riverside University Medical Center for treatment, while the other two ultimately declined medical help. The extent of the injury sustained by the five people was not disclosed.

The intersection was blocked off momentarily as the authorities initiated their investigations and tried to clear up the scene of the wreckage.
