Two drivers were injured following a two-vehicle in the Sawtelle area, Los Angeles, on early Monday morning, May 13, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 1:00 a.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway at Bundy Drive.
Authorities stated that one male was in the Waymo’s driver’s seat, and his vehicle’s autonomous mode was activated during the collision. Upon the responding officers’ arrival, they found a two-vehicle collision involving the Waymo and a black Toyota sedan.
Both the drivers of Waymo and the Toyota suffered from mild to moderate injuries. Their identities are unknown at this time.
Speeding is believed to be the factor of the collision but the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
