[05-11-2025] Two People Injured After Five-Vehicle Hit-And-Run Crash on Highway 108 Near JamestownTwo people sustained injuries following a five-vehicle crash on Highway 108 near Jamestown in Tuolumne County on Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. on Highway 108, east of J-59. 

The collision was reportedly caused by 42-year-old Noah G. of Sonora, who was driving a 2002 Toyota Sienna westbound when he veered over the center line and collided head-on with a 2018 GMC Canyon driven by Jared W. of Manteca.

Three other vehicles were subsequently involved in the collision: a 2023 Mazda CX-5 driven by Kimberly G. of San Pedro, a 2016 Chevy Silverado operated by Jobert V. of Soulsbyville, and a 2015 Hyundai Accent driven by Vanessa S. of Sonora.

Authorities said the Toyota Sienna driver fled the scene on foot but was followed by witnesses and apprehended by CHP officers shortly after. He was arrested for felony hit-and-run causing injuries and booked into the Dambacher Detention Center. Officials noted that drugs or alcohol were not suspected as contributing factors.

The Mazda driver and her passenger, Debra S. of Twain Harte, were transported to hospitals in the Central Valley for treatment of their injuries.
