[05-10-2024] Toddler Killed After Getting Hit by Vehicle in Residential Driveway Along Wolf Mountain RoadA toddler was killed after getting hit by a vehicle in a residential driveway in south Nevada County on Friday morning, May 10, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the tragic crash happened at about 7:00 a.m. on a small residential street along Wolf Mountain Road.

CHP officers said that a grandmother was on her way out of a residence when three children ran outside to say goodbye to her. It is said that the grandmother failed to recognize that a 16-month-old child was in front of her vehicle when she pulled out of the driveway, which resulted in a crash.

The young child was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center after sustaining critical injuries as a result of the accident. The toddler passed away in the facility shortly after.

Officers said that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the deadly incident. The collision is still under investigation.
