[05-08-2024] 22-Year-Old Scooter Rider Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Hayward A 22-year-old scooter rider was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Hayward on Wednesday afternoon, May 8, 2024. 

According to the Hayward Police Department, the collision happened around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Orchard Avenue. 

Authorities stated that a 22-year-old man, identified as Sai G.,  was riding a scooter when he was hit by a vehicle. The victim was found unresponsive at the scene and transported to the nearest hospital.  He died from injuries two days later following the collision. 

Police said that the 36-year-old driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be the factors of this fatal collision. 

Further information has yet to be released by the authorities. No additional details were provided. 

Investigations are ongoing.
