One person died following an industrial incident at a warehouse in Stanislaus County on Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2026.
According to Modesto Fire Department officials, crews responded shortly after 4:30 p.m. to the 600 block of Mariposa Road.
Authorities reported that a person apparently fell from a lift at the warehouse. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials stated that the department’s Technical Rescue Team responded to assist in lifting a 15-ton forklift off the victim. Emergency crews worked for approximately 45 minutes to safely remove the forklift.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office and Cal/OSHA are investigating the incident.
