[05-06-2024] Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Truck on Highway 99 in KeyesA pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a truck on Highway 99 in Keyes, Stanislaus County, on Monday morning, May 6, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 6:00 a.m. along southbound Highway 99 near the offramp for East Keyes Road.

Authorities stated that the pedestrian, identified as Ezequiel M.,41, of Los Angeles, was standing next to a KIA sedan when he was struck by a commercial truck. He sustained major injuries and was transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

Police said that the truck was driven by Raul U.,33, of Woodlake, Tulare County. He stopped just south of where the victim was struck. It is unknown why the victim had stopped on the freeway.

Further information regarding the incident has yet to be released by the authorities. The investigation continues.
