A cyclist was injured after being struck and dragged by a pickup truck in San Luis Obispo late Tuesday evening, May 6, 2025.
According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, the crash occurred on Broad Street near the Marigold Center.
Authorities stated that the pedestrian was walking their bicycle in the bike lane when they were hit by a pickup truck. The impact caused both the individual and their bike to be dragged approximately 30 feet before the vehicle came to a stop.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with moderate, non-life-threatening injuries. Police arrested the driver of the truck on suspicion of driving under the influence of narcotics. The driver’s identity has not been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
